Was able to bring in my 2018 Hyundai Tucson for an oil change, and brought up a past dealership given concern about an air filter. Honest-1 not only did the oil change in a prompt 45-60 minute window, but they also did the full inspection to check over other concerns. They said that there was nothing wrong with the air filter (which I kind of assumed that the dealership was trying to swindle some more cash out), and the only minor problem would've been that the rear windshield wipers had a small tear. They provided a full report on everything they inspected and never tried to sell me something I did not need. Whenever I am in the Twin Cities, Honest-1 is the only place I want to go to receive car maintenance.

Nice place and friendly service experience. Been going for years. Recently I had to get wheel spokes and lug nuts replaced. I told an old mechanic friend of mine later and he said it was way overpriced, could have had it done much cheaper elsewhere. So now I am skeptical of Honest One, where I suspect perhaps I am paying a premium above the average of what I could get at smaller local shop.

Brought my wifes car in to have winter tires installed. Now for clarification I have worked for Honest 1 in the past, didn't have the best break up. So I am sure that management will refer to me as a disgruntled employee. The truth is I helped open this store and I helped become successful, I truly believe in Honest 1. That being said today I recieved terrieble service and I was overcharged. They charged me $174.95 to mount and Balance tires, Morries Mazda charges $124.95. They also charged for a TPMS seal kit, which when I asked the manager about he did not know for sure if it was actually installed. Speaking with the dealer, they said there is a chance this vehicle does not have TPMS sensors. If it is equipped with them they typically don't do anything with them unless there is an issue. All said and done they charged me $237.00, roughly $100.00 more than a dealer. I was never told a price, the manager's response, I did not ask for a price. Which is true. With my 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, I always communicated all charges to the customer. I dropped the vehicle at 8:00am and received a text at 9:56am stating the vehicle was ready for pickup. No contact to let me know what the charges would be. I am frustrated by the lack of communication and the obvious over charging. There was a time when I could trust this business, I guess things have changed. I have recommended this business to others, told them what a wonderful job they did and how they were fair. I am more upset by the lack of communication than the money. When I called in and talked to the manager he was very unproffessional, somehow trying to blame me. He said I have been out of the "business" and I no longer know what services cost. That may be true but I do know how to use a phone and call other shops and compare prices. I have done that and Honest 1 was by and far the most expensive. If you do go there, remember to ask what the charges are , apparently communicating with the customer is not something they do.

Patrick, we are concerned about your review. If you could please call the owner we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

The *manager* Steve Marten scoffed and rolled his eyes when I told him I couldn't afford all the work he wanted. They take longer than necessary in order to charge more for labor. They mark up the price of parts like 6x. Went twice won't ever go again. 'Car repair isn't drive through service' is their motto. My appt was at 11am and It took until 4pm to get my car back when all it needed was 2 headlight connectors. they didn't even call when it was done. The parts are only $5 ea (retail) and it had to pay $206 for that repair. Lazy, greedy, rude people. They clearly don't need your business.

Iris, we apologize for your experience. During this time like many businesses, we are unfortunately understaffed but we still try our best to provide the quality service we are known for. Please reach out to us at (763) 200-5742 to discuss this further. Thank you!
